Poetry Africa in Cape Town is part of the Poetry Africa festival hosted by the Centre of Creative Arts in Durban. "A core focus of the festival is the development of dialogue and exchange between countries and cultures, Africa in particular". The Cape Town programme is a leg of the Poetry Africa tour which then heads to Malawi & Zimbabwe before heading to the main festival in Durban which starts on 4 October. Poets from Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, Botswana, Jamaica and of course South Africa make up the tour with guest poets from Cape Town. A discussion: "The Poet As Wayfarer' will take place at The Planetarium on 27 September @ 5:30pm.
